The Ebon Brotherhood and the Silver Falcons
As told by Sir Dimas Kerbouchard, Commander of the Silver Falcons, 996
H.E.
The Ebon Brotherhood first surfaced openly one hundred fifty years ago
in the Hadran Empire. Starting with minor raids on outlying communities, the Brotherhood
quickly grew into a major threat as the power of their magic proved too great for mundane
troops to face. In 851 H.E., the Order of the Silver Falcon was formed specifically to
oppose this threat. The men and women of the Order came from all walks of life, but they
all had but one purpose: Oppose the chaos of the Ebon Brotherhood.
For nearly fifty years the wars raged, culminating in the battle of
Ereklos Bridge. Though the Brotherhood succeeded in summoning the powerful Greater Fiends
of Chaos, the Silver Falcons, led by the mighty hero Tarlos-Ra, held out long enough to be
reinforced by the main army of the Three Kingdoms. The Brotherhood's army was smashed
and its citadel destroyed, at the cost of the permanent death of most of the Silver
Falcons.
In the hundred years since, the Three Kingdoms have fallen, the Silver
Falcons have dwindled, and the Ebon Brotherhood has bided it's time and has been
gathering its forces. Only in the last year have they openly reappeared, occasionally
attacking settlements in the central Hadran Valley, and seeking out items of magical power
to aid them in their quest: to release the forces of Elemental Chaos.
